Erratic gas gauge and Knocking noise

I own a 2002 Ford Explorer that was my first mistake. When I drove it
off the lot I thought I was getting a reliable vehicle second mistake.
A couple of months later I had to take it in for repairs because there
was a faint knocking noise. When I drove it in to Tomball Ford here in
Texas they told me that they could not hear anything. That I was hearing
things. I looked at him puzzled and told him whatever I have to get to
work. Years past and the noise just gets louder loud. Well last year my
gas gauge was not working correctly. Helfman ford. While I was there I
told the Ford Associate to get in the truck and listen. He heard the
knocking noise. So I was not hearing things. He called the manager over
the mechanics and he listen to it he could not figure out what was
wrong. He told me to IGNORE IT .. That blew my mind. However they
where going to keep the truck to repair the gas gauge. They put me in a
Hyundai that drove better then my truck and I thought they Hyundai was a
bad car. Two days later they contacted me to come get the truck. The
Ford associate told me that they could not duplicate the knocking noise
and more than likely it would not be covered under my warranty because
it might not be mechanical. I could not believe what i was hearing.
When I got in the truck they had put the air-condition full blast and
the radio loud the associate had the nerve to tell me.." See you cannot
hear it" When I turned the radio down and put the AC to it normal
setting it started knocking.. The associate no where to be found.
Six months past and the gauge did the same thing. This time I was told
by FORD that they where not going to fix it that I need to gauge it.
That the reason that my gauge is not working is because I put cheap gas.
I told them that the only gas that I put in this truck is Chevron and
I do not consider it to be cheap. I have receipts and records that no
other gas has been in that tank. Ford did not care nor believed me.. I
decided to contact the corporate office. They where no help. They told
me that they did not take the word of the consumer but only of the
dealership because I was not a mechanic. I did not need to be a
mechanic to know that they gauge is broke. They told me that gauging it
was not a bad solution and they would not fix it because they did not
think it was a hazard. My response was "Is that the same thing that Ford
said when the cruse control went out in all the 1999-2002 Expeditions
and F-150". They rep was very quite and came back with they did not know
what i was talking about.
In conclusion, Ford does not care about there consumer only the
dealerships. I reported them to the BBB and they still have not
responded. They are a Joke and this will be my last ford that I will
ever own. I really wish that it would catch on fire like all the other
trucks so that I can have the pleasure of telling them I TOLD YOU SO!!!!
