purchased a 98 ranger xlt ext.cab, 4x4, came with 3" body lift, bfgoodrich 
31x10x15 ats, stepside bed, 3L v6, nice truck until you put a few miles on 
it, started to have a slap in the driveline upon accelaration, took it in,  
they greased the drive shaft splines, sent me on my way, about 10,000 miles 
later same slap starts to reappear, take it , transmission is found to have 
burned bands a foreign material in it, fixed it and sent me on my way, since 
that time, every 10,000 miles same problem, exact same problem, if you let 
the problem go long enough it will start to effect the shifting exspecially 
in reverse, as of now I am on transmission number five (5) yes number 5, and 
they still say nothing wrong with the truck, must have been a bad 
transmission, one of the transmission actually blew up and left me stranded 
many miles in the desert, after finding your site I contacted the lawyer on 
your site and we are working for a solution, thanks for the info here, to 
anyone else with a ranger, if you have that driveline slap, take it in and do 
it quick
