purchased a 98 ranger xlt ext.cab, 4x4, came with 3" body lift, bfgoodrich
31x10x15 ats, stepside bed, 3L v6, nice truck until you put a few miles on
it, started to have a slap in the driveline upon accelaration, took it in,
they greased the drive shaft splines, sent me on my way, about 10,000 miles
later same slap starts to reappear, take it , transmission is found to have
burned bands a foreign material in it, fixed it and sent me on my way, since
that time, every 10,000 miles same problem, exact same problem, if you let
the problem go long enough it will start to effect the shifting exspecially
in reverse, as of now I am on transmission number five (5) yes number 5, and
they still say nothing wrong with the truck, must have been a bad
transmission, one of the transmission actually blew up and left me stranded
many miles in the desert, after finding your site I contacted the lawyer on
your site and we are working for a solution, thanks for the info here, to
anyone else with a ranger, if you have that driveline slap, take it in and do
it quick
