Spontaneous Combustion

I had a 2000 Ford F-150 4x4 sport extended cab 5.4L v8. On August 5th while
I was sleeping the fire dept woke me up to tell me that my truck had
spontaneously combusted. My truck had not been driven in 8 hours. The entire front
end of my truck was gone. The insurance company considered it a total loss.
Ford will not even communicate with me on this because it is no longer under
their warranty. This problem has been reported to the US Dept of Transportation
several times. There are also several Technical Service Bulletins on the
electrical system on this truck. When I spoke to the Legal Consumer Affairs
division at Ford Motor Co all they would say was there are no problems associated
with my specific VIN. Can Anyone offer some advice? I saw this problem on
your sight more than once. Is there ANYTHING I can do?

Catherine write back later with the following:

"It would be wonderful if you could share our contact information. I will even give
you my cell phone number XXX-XXX-XXXX. I found a law firm in PA that is dealing
specifically with the spontaneous combustion of the F-150. "

I've removed the cell number -- wouldn't post that on the web, thanks -- but if you
have similar problems, I'd be glad to contact Catherine to pass along your
information. -- Todd
