Subject: Our story - The Martins 2005 F-150
Date: 6/14/2005
Gosh, where do we begin. We purchased a BRAND NEW Ford F-150
Supercrew and within 4 months the engine went out! We couldn't
believe it. We've been a faithful Ford customers really all
our lives-Chandra inherited the loyalty from her father. We
have a Mustang and have owned a Ranger & Brougham. We both
owned Ford Escorts in our early days. Wouldn't have dreamed
of driving anything else-UNTIL NOW!!
This has been such a bad experience. May 28 is when the truck
broke down. It was memorial day weekend. This was in Kansas!
We live in Arkansas! Roadside assistance took so long that
the dealership was getting ready to close. A local Ford dealer
picked up the vehicle, but mind you, we had to be back at work
Monday night. A relative had to drive their vehicle down to
Arkansas. Monday when we called the dealership where we
purchased the truck in Arkansas, they said since they didn't
physically have the vehicle & since it was in Kansas, we'd have
to get the rental f/Kansas (How's that for customer service!).
The dealer in Kansas told us we'd have to COME TO KANSAS & get
the rental f/their dealership… We contacted Ford Motor
Company & they had to work out reimbursement of the rental
w/another local Ford dealer. This engine repair is supposedly
going to take a week... Then 3 more days… It has been 15 days
and the vehicle is still not ready…
It's frustrating to have purchased a BRAND NEW vehicle and it
breaks down, but it's even more frustrating that it broke down
7 hours from home & we couldn't depend on roadside assistance
or a Ford dealer for assistance. There should be some
satisfaction for FAITHFUL FORD customers who endure -correction,
ARE STILL ENDURING such an experience. This sounds like
similar experience TJ had only ours has caused a total engine
replacement.
I am checking on Dodge Rams and GMC right now. As of this
moment I wouldn't recommend that anyone purchase a Ford F-150
Supercrew. If we wanted hassles like this, we could have
purchased a used vehicle w/ a little warranty left on it. :(
Maybe for some purchasing something that cost $30,000 is no big
deal, but for us it was a major decision. There are too many
truck makers out there for anybody to suffer like this. We'd
definitely like to be apart of the class action lawsuit. Keep
us posted!
UNSATISFIED,
Chandra & Ronald
