I bought a 2003 cobra conv. Sept. 2002.  It had only 4 miles on it.  I 
tried to sell it to carmax this week only to learn the rear quarter 
panel had been worked on.  The inspector pointed out things I never knew 
to look for: bolts turned on the trunk lid,  a bad weld in the seam of 
the driver's side door frame.  I was devistated.  I had not wrecked it.  
Trying to find out who did has been a cat and mouse game so far.  Dealer 
ETF (Earl Tindol Ford of Gastonia NC) agrees work has been done but not 
by them.  ETF Said I should contact the manufacturer - oh but they will 
not work direct with me - only through dealer.  ETF says they can not 
work on behalf of my car because it is titled to me.... but they will 
support me in anyway they know how.  I see no choice but to hire an 
attorney.  I think ETF did it but they sware the manufacturer just 
performed poor workmanship.  I can not sell the car now.  Car Max wants 
to give me only $19,000 for a car worth $33,000 retail.  Do you know how 
to reach ford directly, ETF gives me the run around.
