I bought a 2003 cobra conv. Sept. 2002. It had only 4 miles on it. I
tried to sell it to carmax this week only to learn the rear quarter
panel had been worked on. The inspector pointed out things I never knew
to look for: bolts turned on the trunk lid, a bad weld in the seam of
the driver's side door frame. I was devistated. I had not wrecked it.
Trying to find out who did has been a cat and mouse game so far. Dealer
ETF (Earl Tindol Ford of Gastonia NC) agrees work has been done but not
by them. ETF Said I should contact the manufacturer - oh but they will
not work direct with me - only through dealer. ETF says they can not
work on behalf of my car because it is titled to me.... but they will
support me in anyway they know how. I see no choice but to hire an
attorney. I think ETF did it but they sware the manufacturer just
performed poor workmanship. I can not sell the car now. Car Max wants
to give me only $19,000 for a car worth $33,000 retail. Do you know how
to reach ford directly, ETF gives me the run around.
