Subject:        2001 FORD F 350 SUPER DUTY CREW, 4X4 DIESEL

DEAR TODD:

    I  PURCHASED A 2001 FORD F350, CREW CAB, DIESEL. 4X4, MAY 21, 2001.
SATURDAY NIGHT,ON JUNE 30, 2001 THE STARTER WENT OUT.    MONDAY WENT TO
DEALER TO FIND THAT THERE WERE NO STARTERS FOR THAT TRUCK IN THE STATE OF
OKLAHOMA, SO AFTER BEING VERY PERSISTENT THEY FINALLY PULLED A STARTER OFF
ANOTHER TRUCK.THE DEALER FIRST TOLD ME IT WOULD BE A COUPLE OF DAYS, BUT MY
WIFE HAD TALKED TO A FORD DEALER IN CLAREMORE, WHO FOUND THAT THERE WAS ONLY
A 1-800 # TO LOCATE A STARTER,YOU HAD TO LEAVE A MESSAGE FOR THIS SPECIFIC
WOMAN, THE MESSAGE SAID THAT THEY WOULD NOT PULL A STARTER OFF THE ASSEMBLY
LINE, AND HE SAID THAT THE VOICE MAIL WAS SO FULL HE COULDN'T LEAVE A
MESSAGE..WE WERE TO LEAVE ON VACATION ON THE SUNDAY BEFORE, AND SO WE WERE
INSISTANT THAT THEY GET THE TRUCK FIXED.ONCE WE TOLD THEM THERE ISN'T ONE IN
OKLAHOMA, AND WHAT WE KNEW, THEY REPLACED IT.BY THE WAY I HAVE NEVER EVEN
TRIED THE 4X4...

SEVEN DAYS AFTER MY FIRST PAYMENT, ON SUNDAY ,JULY 22,2001 AT 6,000 MILES THE
TRANSMISSION WENT OUT. I.TOOK IT TO THE DEALER ON JULY23, AND WAS TOLD A NEW
TRANSMISSION WOULD BE THERE THE FOLLOWING TUESDAY. NO WORD FROM THEM, SO
THURSDAY, AUG 2, 2001 I CONTACTED THEM TO FIND THAT THEY HAD TO ORDER IT FROM
THE FACTORY,  WHEN I REQUESTED A RENTAL TRUCK SO I COULD DO MY BUSINES OF
TREE TRIMMING, I AM SELF-EMPLOYED, I WAS TOLD THAT THE ONLY WAY TO GET
REIMBURSED FOR TRUCK RENTAL IS TO PURCHASE THE EXTENDED WARRANTY, WHICH AT
THE TIME OF PURCHASE I WAS TOLD JUST TO BUY IT BEFORE THE ORIGINAL WARRANTY
RUNS OUT. .I COULD HAVE A CAR , BUT THAT WON'T PULL THE LOADS I BOUGHT THE
TRUCK TO PULL.

AS OF TODAY, AUG 5, 2001, WE ARE STILL WAITING FOR THE TRUCK TO BE REPAIRED,
THE IGNITION WAS ALSO STICKING WHEN I TOOK THE TRUCK IN.  THE WARRANTY WOULD
GIVE ME A RENTAL CAR, BUT I PURCHASED THIS TRUCK SPECIFICALLY FOR MY
BUSINESS WHICH IS TREE TRIMMING, AND LANDSCAPING.  i PULL A TRAILOR AND NEED
THE TOW CAPACITY.  THEY WILL NOT PAY FOR A RENTAL TRUCK, SO I AM PAYING
$30.00 & TAX A DAY FOR A TRUCK.-ALREADY $420.OO THIS MONTH AND IF THEY HAVE
IT FOR A MONTH. i WILL SPEND OVER $950.00 FOR TRUCK RENTAL, PLUS INSURANCE
FOR A TRUCK, THAT WON'T DRIVE, AND A $600.00 TRUCK PAYMENT DUE THE 15TH.  i
HAVE LOST NUMEROUS HOURS OF PRODUCTIVITY IN MY LIVELIHOOD, DUE TO CALLS TO
THEM, RETURNING RENTAL VEHICLES FOR THEIR MAINTENACE. I HAVE HAD TO POSTPONE
SEVERAL OF MY LARGE JOBS BECAUSE I AM UNABLE TO RENT A TRUCK LARGE ENOUGH TO
PULL SOME OF THE HEAVIER LOADS, AND WHEN I DO THEM, I HAVE TO MAKE MANY MORE
TRIPS TO THE DUMP, BECAUSE OF THE LIGHTER LOADS,  WHICH COSTS MORE MONEY IN
DUMP FEES, WAGES,TIME, AND A LOSS OF PRODUCTIVITY, PLUS THE EMOTIONAL TURMOIL
OF CONSTANT PROBLEMS ON A TRUCK THAT I PAID $37,000 FOR AND A TRUCK THAT I
WOULD NOT HAVE PURCHASED BUT I BELIEVED THEIR CLAIMS OF DEPENDABLE AND
RELIABLE, I PURCHASED A DIESEL FOR ECONOMY.  i THINK THAT THE DEALER SHOULD
NOT BE SELLING TRUCKS, IF WHEN THEY ARE DOWN, UNDER WARRANTY, THEY DONT
REPLACE THEM WITH A TRUCK RENTAL, ESPECIALLY IF IT IS USED FOR BUSINESS.  I
WOULD LIKE TO BE FULLY REIMBURSED FOR THE TRUCK RENTAL NECESSITATED BY FORD'S
INABILITY TO PROVIDE ITS DEALERS WITH PARTS.  AND WHAT ARE THEY DOING
GUARANTEEING PROMPT SERVICE ON NEW VEHICLES WHEN THEY CAN'T STOCK ANY
STARTERS OR GET PARTS?.  i NEVER HAD THIS KIND OF PROBLEMS WITH MY CHEVY 1
TON.
