Hello. I personally have always bought with Ford over the years and have been
content with doing so. In March of this year I leased (that was my second
mistake--getting a ford being the first!) a 2000 Ford Ranger .On May 25,2000
I went to get an oil change there before going on a trip to Oregon they said
I didn't have enough miles on it to get one so I went ahead and went to
Oregon for 4 days and got the oil change on May 30,2000 by ... Ford being
the only place I get any service since the truck is so new. They changed the
oil and I took it home. I went to a function of mine held here in L.V. at the
Flamingo Hotel on the weekend of July 24 and 25th. On the 25th coming out of
the hotel garage I had no brakes at all so I had to use me emergency brake
the rest of the way out of the garage and on home. The next morning July 26th
I took it to Ford and they told me that someone had put contaminated fluid in
the brake fluid everything is ruined and it will cost me $1700.00 of which
the extended warranty will not cover. I ended up having to put a
comprehensive claim in with my insurance in order to get it done. Although I
insisted that no one except them has ever put any fluid in my vehicle they in
turn said that with contaminated fluid my brakes wouldn't have lasted from
May 30 until now they would have gone out sooner! I in turn told them thaat
they could last that long because obviously they did.! Having a brand new
truck with under 5000 miles on it to be honest I wouldn't think I'd need my
fluids checked except when they do change the oil. So needless to say they
will not even get the part in until August 18th! The truck being so new they
don't even have that part out yet! So now I have been renting a vehicle since
the 26th of July of which I will have to pay for. Since it is a lease they
won't even offer me a loaner vehicle until the work is done. I'm telling them
that because it is there fault this happened to begin with that they should
offer me one and pay for the truck to be fixed. I have gone all the way to
Michigan on the phone with this Ford Company and of course to no avail they
will not even connect me with the man that can authorize any of this. I think
it is truly disgusting for anyone to consider treating anyone like they have
treated me. I will definitely never buy a Ford product
