I just wanted to vent! I bought my dually brand new and, to start off it
had a diesel leak at 265 miles. At about 20,000 mles, my power windows
wouldn't work, my air conditioning wouldn't work, none of the gauges on my
dash would work and my radio wouldn't work until I drove down the road
about 10 miles, then all with start working. This might not sound like too
big of a deal but try getting into a truck that has been sitting in the
sun with the windows up when it's about 95 degrees and not being able to
put your windows down OR turn the air on. Then, last Sunday (a holiday
weekend, I might add), my sister was hauling a young horse up state for me
and my truck lost all power and died along a very busy interstate. To top
it all off, the Ford "24 hour roadside assistance" would not tow my truck
because there was a trailer attached. Keep in mind that the only time I
really ever drive my truck is when the trailer is attached, I have a Volvo
(very customer friendly) for driving without horses. At that point I was
very glad I did not cancel my membership to AAA who were able to tow the
truck and had someone else come to tow my horse trailer. The truck towing
was paid for through my AAA membership, of course, but I had to pay for
the trailer to be towed out of my own pocket. To add to the expense, I had
to hire a shipper to come rescue my horse and then sedate her so we could
get her from trailer to trailer along the very busy interstate....poor
horse. I need my truck for my job and I don't even want to THINK about how
much money I have lost through this whole thing since Ford would never
THINK of giving me a loaner to pull my horse trailer around! To top it all
off, the mechanics at the Ford dealership don't know what's wrong with my
truck! I will never buy a Ford truck again nor will I recommend Ford
trucks to anyone else. I am so disappointed by Ford. I bought this truck
brand spankin' new (almost $50K later) just to have reliable
transportation for my horses and here I sit....absolutely gorgeous farm,
incredible show horses, fancy horse trailer and NO TRUCK!!!!! To be
honest, I'm a little reluctant to head down the road with one of my pricey
horses in the trailer being pulled by my crappy truck if I ever get it
back. I hope someone else has better luck with their Ford pick up because
I have very quickly become anti-Ford.
