Has anyone complained to you about the 2000 Ford Focus and
steering problems?  My new Focus (2800 miles) started to
experience a shimmy.  Shortly thereafter, as I was driving
on a busy street and tried to make a turn, my steering wheel
locked.  The steering wheel actually came out of the
steering column.  My vehicle jumped and curb as I braked.
Fortunately, no one was seriously injured, but I can't
believe it even happened.  I would appreciate knowing if
anyone else has experienced this problem.
