Hi my name is Denise and we currently own a Ford F-150 Super Crew truck.
Our horror story is very similar to everyone elses. My family and I
were driving from California to the Mid-West and right in Tucomcarie New
Mexico is where we had the flat tire. But, before that we were
experiencing shaking in the truck.... not knowing about engines and
stuff on the truck, I wasn't aware of the problems. As we pulled into
the gas station I then noticed the flat. My brother and finance then
changed the tire as well as AAA coming to help, but were alittle too
slow. He (the AAA driver) directed us to another tire center down the
road to get a new tire and change the other front tire as well because
it too was on the silver trends. As we carefully drove to the tire
place... the sales person came out to notify us that he was out of Ford
tires and no one around not even the Ford dealerships had any available.
I thought that was funny because being out in New Mexico and seeing
Ford's, Chevy's, you would think they would have plenty of tires to fit
an american truck. It' s not like we were driving a foriegn truck. So,
after talking to this sales person he suggested we go to Amarillo Texas
the next biggest town to get help...... our original plan was to take
the 40 to the 54 and up to cut off time and miles on our trip. The
sales person said that there are small towns on the 54 but he knows that
they were running into the same problems with having no tires to fit our
truck. So, once again we went out of the plan and drove to Amarillo
Texas (MILES AWAY)!!!!!! Scared and driving slowly we make it there to
Discount Tires and the sales person there said he was out of tires and
that no one had the tire we needed for our truck.... once again not
even the dealership, because they had just called Discount tires to find
out if they had any tires. The sales person suggest that we stay there
in a hotel and wait for him to get tires shipped in. Then my brother
just kept calling around Amarillo to find a place............... now
being 6:00 pm everything was closed. The last tire center my brother
called just happen to have 2 tires but they were closed...... so with
some explaining of our situation the manager then decided to let us
drive over to his shop to get the tires. As we get there the head shop
personal lets me and my finance know about the silent recall that the
Ford truck have been having. That is why there were no tires available
for the ford trucks........ he said even new trucks with only a couple
of hundreds of miles are coming in to get new tires due to the front
wheel alignment and tires are bad. If I would have known about the
silent problem..... I would have NEVER drove the truck on our vacation
in the condition it was in. I had my 2 children in the truck as well as
my brother, mother and finance. If anything were to happen seriously to
my family I would lose it. I can't believe that a multi-million dollar
company would do this. I need your help.....
I did spend a lot of money repairing the truck, but it still
shakes!!!!!!!!! Thanks for your web page.
