Hello. I was just surfing around and came across your page. My wife and i have just
purchased a 2002 Ford Explorer XLT. It is a used model. We previously owned and
traded in a 1998 explorer xlt. We owned that for 3 years. It is amazing. We got the
car this past Sunday 10/17/04 and are already noticing a few problems which i find
a bit alarming. Here are some of the problems we noticed;
1. ABS brake indicator stays lit during driving. I looked in the service manual. Possible
bad sensor it says. Service needed.
2. Seat belts are loose when driving. There is no restraint when you stop short. We
even tried jerking ourselves forward and nothing happened.
3. Check engine light periodically comes on. (My wife says she saw this happen. I
have yet to see this one.)
Your thoughts are greatly appreciated. We will be going back to the dealer this
Thursday 10/21/04. Please respond back ASAP. Respectfully, D.
