Here's my Ford horror story

We own a Ford F-250 Diesel Super Duty. We bought it new in 8/05 to pull our
24' 5th wheel trailer. We've had several problems with this truck, fuel filters
indicating water in them, oil spraying over engine while we were 1500
miles from home....due to a hose, they replaced with an upgrade. Mirrors changed
out under recall. But the worst problem is the transmission. The truck has 47,000
miles on it and when we shift out of park to any gear it hesitates and then jolts into
gear. We took it to the dealership (Hub City Ford) where we bought it, they put it on
a scope and charged us $80 to tell us they were sure what it is but they think it is
transmission problem and tha t it is out of warranty for that. They then requested
we pay them $450 to tear apart the transmission and they could tell us for sure
what is wrong. I took the truck to our normal mechanic who knew what the
problem was in 5 minutes. The torque fluid was draining down. I called the
dealership back, called Ford Motor Company directly...all I keep being told is out of
warranty for transmission, even though this appears to be manufacture defect since
there are TSB on line concerning the same problem. My mechanic said when he
contacted his source for the front pump that needed replacing he was told Ford was
fixing some of these truck even though they are out of warranty since it is a faulty
part....but I could get no where with Ford. My mechanic fixed the truck, but since
the pump on the truck has been upgraded by Ford (guess they know it is defective)
the solenoid had to be replaced also to match up to this new torque pump. Also, the
mechanic said he found nothing to cause this to go out...no trash in transmission or
anything....just defaulty part. The total cost ended up being $1800, and my
mechanic advised me what he has heard about this type of truck is all bad and get
rid of it as soon as you can. We had already decided to trade it in for a GMC or
Chevy...but needed it fixed first.
Any suggestions on getting restitution from Ford would be greatly appreciated.
I have learned an expensive lesson....Ford Sucks.
