Hi Todd:  Well, here is my story.  I bought a 2001 Ford truck in March 
of 2003.  It only had 20,000 miles on it.  Before I bought it I used 
Carfax to make sure everything was ok with the truck.  It was.  Anyway, 
cutting to the chase, I noticed this year 2005, that my paint was 
chipping all over!  I took it to the dealer and he said "oh, they won't 
pay for that"(Ford that is)  .  The man in charge of service said that 
when the Ford rep comes in he would call me.  Of course, no call, so I 
called him back and he said,  "oh, she said they won't pay for it."  I 
said, Well, she didn't even look at it.  He said it doesn't matter, they 
will not pay for it.  For all she knows it could have been painted 
before.  I proceeded for the past month to go to the manager and to make 
a long story short,  I talked to him today, and he said she will not 
cover it because it is a used vehicle.  I went to several body shops and 
they clearly say it is defective primer, and that they should cover it.  
Right now, I don't know what else to do.  I read your rules, and did 
call him back and ask for it in writing, and I also asked if there was 
anyone above him I could talk to.  This is so frustrating.  A new paint 
job quoted to me will be over $5,000 to $7,000.  I am beside myself.  
What are your suggestions???  I appreciate any advice you have for me.
