My husband brought me a new 2002 Ford Explorer in July, 2002. We got it dirt cheap...now
I know why. I never wanted a Ford but like I said it was dirt cheap. This month, of course,
after the warranty is up, the paint is PEELING off of the truck. It is PEELING down to the
metal in a strip across the hood. The body shop guy said "it doesn't look like it has a primer
on it". I am not a repair person but I am sure that this meant "Ford didn't paint this truck right".
Needless to say, the vehicle has paint that is PEELING off. I have vehicles in my drive way
that are 10 and 11 years old that still have the original paint. Oh, yes, a Mazda and BMW.
What was that I was hearing about all of those "foreign cars". It seems that good ole
American cars can't hold up, even their paint. Come on, three years and that is it for the paint
job?? Well, I am TRYING to get Ford to repaint the hood. They keep giving me the song
and dance about I need to talk to this manager and that
manager. They need to talk to so and so. No one is going to do anything so I thought I
would put out a line and see if anyone else is having the same problem that I am or if the guy
(or machine) that painted my vehicle was just having a bad day. Also, just for the record, I
have had smoother ride on mechanical bull.
