Bought my 2001 Escape in April, 2001.  3 recalls so far!  That plus 
warranty work on the electric driver side window, a coolant light that 
kept coming on.

Warranty was up this spring.  This vehicle only has 15,000 miles on it 
and is garage kept.  Had to go in for another recall... noticed my 
glass "moon roof" wouldn't close and was off kilter.  So, I had them 
look at that too (cost 50 bucks just to do that).  The bad news? The 
moon roof needed a new "track assembly".  The reallybad news?  1,400 
bucks!

Furious, I called the customer number but of course the woman who said 
she would be my "advocate" (funny, huh?) called back and said since 
there were no recalls and that I was out of warranty, she could not 
help me.

It is insane that a vehicle in such good condition, has a bad moon roof 
and they want 1400 bucks to fix a 600 dollar option! If anyone else had 
experienced this, please write me and write or call Ford.  I can't 
affor to fix it right now (nor do I think I would at that price) so we 
just pushed it down and I now have an expensive sky light!
