Subject:
2005 Ford Focus brake wear

I have a 2005 Focus ZX4 with 4,250 miles on it. The drivers side rotor is all grooved looking and
the passenger side rotor is fine. I took it in to the local Ford dealer and was told it was normal
wear. The service manager was not there when I picked up the car, so I made an appointment
to bring it back so he could personally look at it. Before I did, I took the car to a local independent
repair shop. They said "yes there is something wrong with the pad on that side". and that I should
return to the dealer to have it repaired. When I returned to Ford the service manager said Ford
considered it normal wear. I think they must be out of their minds. One side is fine, and the other
is grooved. How can that be normal? I have read about numerous brake problems on earlier
models. They changed to larger brakes on the 2005, but it appears it hasn't helped.
