My 77/79 year old parents bought a 1995 Taurus at J.C. Lewis Ford in
Savannah, GA. With 40 thousand miles it required a total transmission
overhaul to the tune of $1300.00 at a local transmission repair shop.
An extended warranty was purchased on the vehicle, but the car had
slipped past the time limit, but not the mileage. Ford and J. C. Lewis
would not honor the warranty. The car is back at J.C. Lewis this week
with a bad ignition switch and inoperative water temperature gauge.

The car had to be towed because it couldn't be started. We have been
told that we should expect a $750.00 repair bill. Both of these
problems developed when the car was new, but my parents were told that
nothing was wrong. That was when the car was under warranty. We are
very angry.
