Subject: Faulty brakes on 2003 Ford Focus
Date: 5/29/2003

Recently my son-in-law-to-be bought a 2003 Ford Focus, less than a
week after he bought the car the front brakes locked up on him on
his way to see our daughter. (I need to mention he is a Marine and
money does not grow on trees.) There was some damage to the front
left tire and axel. My husband and I helped him get the car fixed
because the Ford dealership told him it was not covered by warranty
and that it was his fault and was classified as an accident. Well,
here is where the story gets better. Less than 24 hours out of the
shop, at a speed of less than 20mph the front brakes lock up again
but this time the back end fishtails and takes out a brick mailbox.
The car had to be towed and on the original car dealers advice, the
car was towed to another Ford dealership where this dealership was
told by the Ford corporation to not touch the car until their
representative could inspect the car. In the meantime this kid had
to get back to the Marine base with NO Means of transportation and
he was told he could not get a rental car because his warranty did
not cover it, Nor did his insurance cover it. Now no one is
willing to help this kid, Not Ford, Not His Insurance Company and
he is still expected to pay payments on a car that is virtually
totaled. Can you top this! Then I find website after website about
faulty Ford Products and the same run-around that we are getting from,
Is there no one that can help this kid? For goodness sake he is
protecting this great country we live in and FORD CORPORATION is
screwing him royally because of his limited time off duty and lack
of knowledge of the law. Any help you can supply will be greatly
appreciated.
