Hi! My name is Howard and I have a story to tell about my 2005 Ford F150
light duty truck that nearly cost me my life. I purchased a brand new 2005
Ford F150FX4 in Sept of 2005. My new truck was my pride and joy until the
evening of Dec. 02, 2005. After work I left my shop to head home but when I
got to the road my brakes totally failed causing me to roll out onto the
road and into the path of a transport truck. My truck had only 6,500 km and
was completely totaled. I was very lucky not to be killed. A half second
earlier and I would have been hit broadside and surely killed. When I
approached my Ford dealer they said that this was not a problem that they
had experienced before. To make things worse, I was charged with failing to
yield. My insurance company replaced my Truck and had their investigator
inspect my truck. From his visual inspection he found nothing wrong with the
brakes and now I have what is considered an "at fault" accident on my record
along with increased premiums.

I fought the ticket and beat the charges. The judge believed me when I told
him I had no brakes. I registered a complaint with the Motor Vehicle Defect
Investigation Branch of Transport Canada Road Safety. They did not follow up
except to ask the person that examined my wrecked truck if he found any
problem.

I did my own investigation and had my eyes opened up. Go to

for some scary posts. To date Ford does not acknowledge a problem!
Hopefully something will be done before someone is killed. I am scared that
this will happen again to my second new Ford Truck.

I have pictures of my totaled truck if you would like to see them.

Howard
