My new Ford Focus began its problems at 10K miles, and as of this date,
continues to have problems. First, it was a roaring noise in the right
front, and Ford replaced the right axle shaft and bearing. The brakes
have always had a terrible noise..like the pads are worn. Ford put
weights on them to lessen the noise, but still has a terrible squeak. At
18K miles the accelerator began to stick and Ford replaced a throttle
body. The rear end had a bad squeaking on rough roads but Ford couldn't
find anything wrong. At 28K miles I took it back in because the car
seemed to be "hunting" low spots in the roads and again for the noisy
rear end. Ford did a front end alignment, but that didn't help. (Make
sure if you own a Ford--get a front end alignment before 12K miles, or
you get the bill.) At this same 28K miles, we had to have the
transmission reprogrammed because it was shifting too hard (holding my
breath that it won't go out), a headlight had to be replaced (it went
out again after another 10K miles), and the two rear shocks were
replaced. That took care of the rear end noise, for now. At 54K miles I
seem to be starting all over again--the shaft and bearing are bad again.
To top that Ford doesn't warranty their parts past 12 months or 12K
miles. I have always had a Ford but after this experience I see that he
quality and workmanship is forever gone. This will be the last Ford
product I have!!
