Here's a little information about a class
action law suit involving several ford crappy
vehicles. In 2002 I purchased a 1999 mustang gt with a
2v ohc engine. The first thing to go was the plastic
intake. I took my car to a ford dealer to get it fixed
under recall, but they told me that the only vehicles
covered were the police interceptors even though the
part# was the same(they were trying to cover their
arse) .
The problem was that the intake cracks and leaks
coolant from the water jackets . So I contacted the
transportaition safety administration or something
like that to cmplain . That was all I could do .
Anyways I didn't expect anything to be done about it.
So I checked the price on a replacement manifold , and
the dealer said that the only replacement available
was an updated version that requires modifacations to
install and the price of the kit was $689.00 .
Needless to say I was furious .After replacing the
transmission , fuel pump , and alternator I wasn't
going to spend any more money on that piece of crap
car. I knew there was a defact in the design of the
manifold if they had updated it, so I offered to buy
the manifold if they gave me the extra parts I needed
to install. HA! Fat chance right. They said hell no!
So I took a trip to the local junkyard and bought a
used non-updated plastic manifold . Two weeks later it
also busted on the highway . The car sat ever since .
Yesterday I checked the mail and I had a
letter from an attorney from out of state . The letter
said that a class action lawsuit had been filed on
behalf of all the owners of ford vehicles equiped with
a nylon intake i.e. mustangs , explorers , grand
maquis , town cars , crown victorias , and any car
with a 4.6 l sohc engine made before 2002 . So on
October 10 , 2005 when the settlement is finalized all
these owners will be able to get this manifold
replaced at no cost to them reguardless if the car is
out of warranty . Ford still denies all liability . No
surprise .
I just wanted to let ALL these owners know so
we all could cash in and hurt fords profits . Further
information will follow later because I left the
letter at home and I'm at work now , but I think you
can find info at fordmanifold.com I think . I will get
the letter and put all the websites you can go to
tolearn more about this lawsuit . But all you have to
do after october 10 , 2005 is take the car to a ford
dealer and get it replaced , and if you've already
replaced it you can be reimbursed even if you don't
have a receipt . The dealer wil just inspect the
vehicle and if it has been replaced they will issue
you a check on the spot . Further info to follow .
Before this occured I ordered a 2005 mustang
gt but when the car got there I never showed because
customer service is a big thing when buying a vehicle
to me . Yea ford is going to make good on this deal ,
but look what it took to get them to take
responsability for their mistake . I think back to
1995 when I owned a G.M. vehicle and excellent service
extended after the sale of the car . So I am now
looking into a Pontiac GTO , and no longer at an
overpriced underpowered mustang . I call them
Mustakes.
Just two more things to say I swear to God I
will never buy another ford for the rest of my life,
and FORD SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
