2003 expedition trim faded

Many 2003 Expeditions are rolling around town with serious fading of the 
side body molding. Ford admits this is a problem they are aware of (TSB) 
and that there was a "bad batch" / material problem. They still won't 
replace with out charging. It must have been one BIG batch because I 
have seen trucks in this condition from Virginia to Indiana. I know 
there was a class action suit about paint problems awhile ago and wonder 
if the batch was big enough that this may be possible for this problem 
as well.
