Subject: 2003 mustang
Date: 1/12/2003
HI.....Was on your website looking for help. I just purchased a
2003 mustang. I drove it 640 miles when it overheated. My husband
opened the radiator cap and to our surprise.......NO RADIATOR
fluid, NO WATER, NOTHING bone dry. We called Ford's Road side
assistance, they said they could come pick up the car, but we were
on our own to find a way home. 40 miles from home and no one to
pick us up we filled the car with water and fluid and came home.
At what point are the fluids put into a new vehicle???? Does this
happen at the factory??? Does the dealer do it??? Should the
dealer have checked this before I took delivery on the car?????
NOW WHAT??? Will the dealer even believe me the cars radiator was
empty??? Could you help??? Do you have any advise for ???
Thanks........Leigh
I was stunned by this letter. That's just amazing! So I wrote
back and asked for the name of a dealership that would assume,
perhaps, that the customer drained the radiator in order
to break the car?!
Todd......The ford Dealership is SUNCOAST Ford in Hudson,
Florida. Thanks So much for your email. I did take the car back
to the dealership they made it sound like it was no big deal. I
will however take it to a non-ford mechanic. I am pissed that
they think it is not a big problem. They said "that is what my
warranty is for". What a joke. I will take your advise and keep
every scrap of paper, related to this. I will keep you updated on
the progress.
Thanks.....Leigh
