In September 2004, I ordered a 2005 Mustang GT. The car was delivered on
New Years Eve Day (12/31). Within the first month (1500 miles) I noticed
that the rear brake rotors appeared to have grooves in them. I took the car
back to the dealer. I was informed that this happens a lot. In fact they
had a female employee with a six cylinder Mustang that had the same problem.
They stated (along with the female employee) that this problem would go
away. Well, I drove my car an additional four months. The problem got
worse and now the brakes squeal terribly. I took the car back to the dealer
(8100 miles). The dealer informed me that they would turn the rotors, not
replace them. I told them that I wished to have the rotors replaced. They
told me that that was not acceptable. They gave me the 800 number for Ford
complaints. I called the number. After spending 15 minutes with a lovely
young lady who doesn't speak my language (English), Guess who's side they
were on. I have not taken my car back to be repaired yet but I have made up
a very colorful sign to place in my windshield that states how the dealer
and Ford in general SUCK. I also have your web site listed on my sign. I
take my car to a cruise-in every Friday night. There are thousands of
people at this cruise-in. I get a lot of questions about my car and where I
bought it. I'm quite sure that people will be getting an ear full from me.
I also work for a very large corporation with 7000 employees in our
facility. I have posted this letter on all bulletin boards. I have owned 5
Fords (92 Ranger, 95 Ranger, 99 Mustang, 01 Expedition and 05 Mustang). I
have had trouble with three of the five. Each time the Service Department
treated me like crap. I have used three different dealers for service. I
will be getting rid of my Mustang. I was torn between getting a Mustang or
a Corvette. I am the previous owner of a 02 Z06 Vette. I had absolutely no
trouble with this car. When I did take this car in for service, I was
treated with respect. Looks like I will be trading my Mustang in on a
Vette. Yours Truly,
