Subject:  1996 Ford Taurus

So far I haven't had an experience with Ford but I'm getting
ready to start.  I have a 1996 Ford Taurus painted Sherman
Blue.  The clear coat on the hood and side mirrors is
starting to peel off and the paint underneath is oxidizing.
It looks like it is shedding it's skin!  I have taken it to 2
paint and body shops and they commented that it should be
covered under a recall notice.  But so far I have not been
able to come up with any information.

Before I take on Ford - any thoughts or suggestions or
ideas?
