2001 Lincoln Navigator

I have a 2001 Lincoln Navigator that recently had a "check engine" problem.
When I took it to Ford, their diagnostics indicated that there was a problem
with one of the engine cylinders and that I would need a $5,000 repair job
to fix the problem. This car has only 51,000 miles on it. Though a little
research on the Internet, I found out through an internal Ford document that
this was a known engineering defect that occurred in a small number of
Navigators and Avitators. Since the car was barely beyond the 50K warranty
and it was a known engineering problem, I appealed to Ford to cover the full
cost of the repair work. They basically told me to take a hike.
Although I've previously purchased an Explorer and a Taurus, I will never
buy another Ford product again.
