Ford Expeditions are as common as hotcakes on the road. Everywhere you turn
you see one of these urban tanks. We felt happy to own one in June of 1998.
That happiness has now turned to deep regret. We've had numerous pesky
problems with this car: rear windshield wiper went out, door molding came
completely undone, rear middle seatbelt broke, front leather seats cracked,
etc.

The problem we're dealing with now is the worst by far. Driving back from
Las Vegas across the hot desert an engine spark plug just blew right out of
its casing, incapacitating the truck and creating a treacherous and scary
roadside emergency for our family of 8. We had to get towed over 100 miles
to the dealer, where the blown spark plug diagnosis was confirmed.

This was quite obviously a factory defect, as we had believed the Ford
propaganda regarding no tune-up needed for 100,000 miles. The dealer is
charging us $2000 for this repair, and we did not have the extended warranty.
I am so mad! Here I've paid all this money for a lemon! I'm unloading this
puppy as soon as its out of the shop!
