Todd For President
: Take a minute to check out the issues I stand for, then VOTE FOR ME!China
It's been a while since I've written, and in that OOTM I wrote about China, but an article in CNN drew my attention so much that I just had to write a quick blurb. Check out the following article on China: "Revolution Is No Dinner Party, But China's Reform Is". Well done, and it explains why China's government is not viable and cannot possibly stand in the long term. When billions of dollars of public money are being spent to throw parties while the general population lives below the poverty level, there's a problem.
Jesse Ventura's Layout
I think the only thing Jesse could have done that would be more controversial would have been if he'd posed nude in Playboy. As it is, the interview he did with them is generating a bit of heat. To Jesse, concerning his comments on organized religion ("a crutch for weak-minded people") and the Tailhook scandal (the perpetrators were misunderstood), I say, "Right on!"
First, if you've ever read my views on religion, you know that I'm all for a good solid faith in a greater power, but religious organizations exist because those at the top want to fleece the flock, not protect and guide it.
As for Tailhook, well I don't agree with the quote I've heard, but I haven't read the interview so all I can say is that, if that's how Jesse feels, whatever.
See, it's hard to be mad at him when the party that's taking him to task for such comments is cozying up to Pat Buchanan. That's right, the racist dork, Pat Buchanan. The man that wrote in a recent book that Hitler was an OK guy, and that if America hadn't been in such a rush to jump into the war, we might be buddies with a Nazi Germany today. This is the man the Reform Party would like to woo as a Presidential candidate.
Jesse, you just get down with your bad self and tell Verney, the soon-to-be-former-leader of the Reform Party that's using this to slam Jesse on his way out the door, to kiss your Big Time Wrestling butt.
Medical Insurance Reform
You want to solve the HMO situation? Here ya go:
1. Pass a flat tax with no exemptions. The kind of cost that HMO reform represents should not be shouldered by the poor and middle class alone.
2. Go to socialized medicine. *EVERYONE* should be able to afford good health care in this, the richest country in the world.
