But then again, I haven't been to Zimbabwe.

Where you'll find the Harare Central Hospital, whose morgue is designed to hold 164 bodies, and is packed with over 600 bodies.

This nation is plagued by over 5000 AIDS related deaths a week. A WEEK! Did you hear me? Well, no, I guess you didn't, since you're only reading this... But I digress...

So this moron on Fox News the other day tried to argue against same sex marriage because, among other things, gays suffer from AIDS. I wonder if he understands how many of the AIDS deaths globally are of straight people? But I digress again...

Sticking to the point this time, Zimbabwe is in bad shape. People are dropping like flies from hunger and AIDS. Of course, you've all heard this before, about how bad things are in Africa, right?

Here's the part you don't hear.

Zimbabwe's hunger problems are caused by its President, Robert Mugabe. This guy tried to put a referendum through that would have changed that country's Constitution to vastly extended his powers, but it was voted down. So he decided it was time to play the Hitler card. This is how that works: you tell the under-represented and impoverished majority that the minority is the cause of their problems. It worked in post-WWI Germany against the Jews, and now it's working against white farmers in Zimbabwe. See, Robert Mugabe has turned his people against the white farmers, telling them that their impoverished condition is because the farm lands in the country are owned by whites, not blacks. He called for "land reforms", but didn't put into detail how that should be accomplished.

Because he knew he didn't have to.

Right after that, white farmers found angry blacks invading their homes, threatened their children, and sometimes even killing the entire family outright.

So here's where it gets good. Mugabe got his way; he united the majority against a common foe. Hundreds of whites are dead or have been evicted from land that has been in their family since the late 1800s. And "land reform" occurred in a flash. The problem now is that none of the people that have taken over the land have the first idea how to farm.

That's right, you got it: the farms have collapsed.

The primary agricultural infrastructure, which fed most of Africa via exports, has tumbled so badly that the people of Zimbabwe are starving. It doesn't matter how much or little money you have, because there's no food.

And people wonder why we don't jump up to help. Would it matter if the U.S. did? Here's a thought. Instead of handing out food, just fly over and drop leaflets explaining the problem and how it got that way to the Zimbabwean people from an outside point of view. Then promise them that, as soon as they pull their collective head out of their collective you-know-what, we'll think about sending people in to teach them how to farm.

And you thought all I cared about was California issues, didn't you? HAH! I'm a Good Ole Boy. We're much more broad-minded and better educated than that....

8/2/2003:   Dominic Akers raped and murdered Marissa Mathy-Zvaifler. That's not in question. The 33 year old convicted child molester, who was out on probation, claims the 16 year old girl asked to meet the band that was playing a concert at the theater where he worked and that, when he thought she was about to have sex with him, she broke away, so he strangled her.

Hang on.... That last sentence has me murderously clinching my fists over and over.... Must control Fist Of Death....

Ok, (deep shuddering breath), I'm good... I'm cool...

Perhaps you haven't read my views on pedophiles, but I feel that there is no way to rehabilitate these people. They will offend again, let there be no doubt. And in this case, the ... (repressing violent profanity) ... perpetrator KILLED AN INNOCENT CHILD, and he's going to try to blame it on the girl!!

This girl, Marissa, would be alive today if we kept child molesters in prison. But she's dead, strangled because she wouldn't give a child molester sexual favors in return for "meeting the band." People, all girls want to meet the band at a concert. It's like, part of the code or something, I don't know. My wife is ... um, 29... years old and she wants to meet the band after the concert. But should this little girl have lost her life because the court system can't make the law match the reality?!

And if you doubt I'm right, ask this girl's parents. They called the police after she didn't return from the concert. The police found the body because Mr. Aker's father called the police and told them what his son had told him.

And now, rather than just say, Yeah, ok, I'm a scumbag, put me away forever or fry me, whatever fits the crime, he's going to hold the girl up and say, Oh no! She started it!

Must control Fist Of Death..... eerrrgggg......

Frikkin' liar. I'm glad I didn't vote for the bastard....

And now he has the cajones to blame it on the CIA, Condoleeza Rice, ANYONE AT ALL! While the CIA is telling him to go blow himself, Mrs. Rice has the character to fall on her sword and take the blame for the President she put so much personal stock in.

Folks, don't be fooled. Bush, even if he didn't know the intelligence was bad when he gave his speech to Congress, should have put the brakes on when he was informed that the info was bogus and called for a rapid-fire investigation to make sure all the other intelligence he was basing his decisions on was ok. But he didn't. He failed to do his job properly.

And ordered a war on that basis.

This man is derelict in his duties and a danger to the populace of the U.S. and the world. He should be impeached immediately.
