6/27/2005: Visit this great site: http://www.radicalrags.com. Buy one for you, one for each of the people you love, and then buy one for George Bush and send it to him. Let the world know how you REALLY feel! This site also has a fantastic set of links to other political opinion and product sites. And by the way, if you have a site that tells the truth on Gee Dub Monkey-Faced Frat Boy Bush, send me the link and I'll be glad to post it here. I'll be starting a links page shortly that will include links to reference material that supports the views on this site, links to similar opinion and discussion pages, and links to insightful and/or globally conscious products and services. 6/9/2005: Janice Rogers Brown was approved by the Senate for the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals. Want to know what an activist judge is? Try this out: She is against the most basic protections for workers. She follows a radical judicial philosophy, (often called "Constitution in Exile") that says courts have a duty to block Congress from interfering with a corporation's "right" to profitably pollute, or an employer's "right" to demand unlimited hours at any wage from their employees. But extremist Republicans serve corporate interests, the same interests that restructured bankruptcy in favor of credit card companies while ignoring the plight of those that fall on hard times due to illness or death in the family. Tearing out the guts of the Constitution in favor of corporate greed? That sounds like an activist to me. Want more? There's another one coming down the pike. Read on. Priscilla Owen, another of the three judges covered under the deal, was confirmed last week to a seat on the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans, Louisiana. The Bar Association rated her as unqualified for the position, but the Republican juggernaut ran over your needs like a tractor over a squirrel by muscling her onto the bench over the Democrats' appeals for sanity. Senators voted 67-32 Wednesday evening to end debate on the nomination of a third judge, William Pryor, who already sits on the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Atlanta, Georgia, through a presidential recess appointment. Mr. Pryor has been blatantly involved in Fund raising violations, he's against women's rights, against civil rights, against privacy rights, and against the Constitution, specifically the Bill of Rights. According to Wade Henderson, executive director of the Leadership Conference, on Civil Rights (LCCR), the nation's oldest, largest, and most diverse civil and human rights coalition, "Pryor's ideological agenda of limiting Congress's ability to pass laws aimed at protecting against discrimination and inequality should disqualify him from a lifetime appointment to the federal judiciary. Instead, that very record prompted President Bush to bypass Congress and use extraordinary methods to ensure that Pryor sits on the nation's second highest federal court. The recess appointment of William Pryor is a slap in the face to the cause of civil rights and shows profound disregard for the Senate's role of 'advice and consent.'" So, does it trouble you that the American public voted to rehire a man who appoints people that are so willing to rip out the guts of the documents on which this country was founded? That Bush would destroy your rights? Does that bother you at all? Cause I gotta tell ya, it bothers the hell out of me that more people couldn't see it.
6/9/2005:
The first Sell-Out Award goes to Ben Nelson, the Democratic Senator from Nebraska, for voting in favor of appointing Janice Rogers Brown to the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals. Congratulations, Mr. Nelson, you sell-out schmuck. Way to go. The women, minorities, and workers of the U.S. thank you for your vote. Here's wishing you good luck in finding gainful employment after your political career has ended. |

my 6/9/2005: Some people have a real problem handling fame. Russell Crowe, who alternates between violent emotional outbursts and whining that Al Qaeda have plans to kidnap him, is one such. Fame and glitz have clearly unbalanced him. His parents must be so proud.... | ||
