I currently own a 2001 Ford F-150 I purchased new from C&C Ford in
Horsham Pa. One year later the paint cracked and pealed off the roof. I
took it back to the selling dealer and it was fixed. A few months later
the rest of the truck started to do the same thing. I took it back to be
fixed. The manager said a Ford rep. will need to look at it before they
can do anything. After the rep. inspected it he said Ford will not fix
it. I had 4 other reps. look at it they all gave me the same answer. The
last rep. took a sample of paint. He told me it was not Ford paint.
(Only the roof was repainted by Ford when I first took it in.) I took
the truck to 3 different dealership body shops they all said the only
sign of repaint was the roof which was done under warranty with no
problems. They also told me they did not understand how Ford could own
up to the roof problem but not the rest of it. I never stopped
complaining to Ford. It wasn't until I was out of warranty that they
offered any help. They told me if I pay $1,200 of the repair they will
pay the rest. I told them no since this was a warranty concern to begin
with. This whole situation is more bothersome since this is my 2nd truck
from Ford and several people in my family have bought new Fords from the
same dealership and my grandfather bought all of his F-series and
E-series for his construction company from them, so Ford has made a lot
of money from us. (So much for taking care of your customers) I tried to
do this the right way but that gets you no where. I am in contact with a
lawyer and I will not stop until this is resolved. I will never be a
Ford, Lincoln, Mercury, Mazda, Volvo, Jaguar, Land Rover, or Aston
Martin customer again. (They are all Ford products.) I am employed by
Honda. Import companies know how to take care of their customers and
keep them happy. If there is a paint problem we buy the vehicle back
since any paint repair decreases the value drastically and it will only
cause problems down the road. Each time we do a buy back the customer is
happy and I have never seen them not buy another vehicle from us the
same day we bought theirs back. They may not be happy at first but they
understand we are doing all we can. I understand you can't make every
vehicle perfect but you can at least try to help out your customers. And
they should stand by their warranty.
Sincerely,
Rob
One unhappy Ford customer!
