Dear Sir,
I am really glad to see that there are others out there such as myself. I bought a 2004 Ford
F650, brand new, and a 2005 Mustang in November 2004. I will first talk about the
Mustang as that is the least of the problems. We noticed on the Mustang that the CD
"Shaker 500" sound system was continually skipping and displaying errors. Also you could
not fill the gas tank if the tank was at or above half full.
We called Ricart Ford and they us at first told us it was normal!!!! We then found a site
called Blue Oval and they informed us that Ford is quietly replacing these items for free
but you have to ask and tell them first, This Mustang does look good and as a result my
girlfriend was the victim as the result of a attempted carjacking. They rammed the rear
end of her car and because she would not get out and started to drive away they gave
up and left.
This left us with a damaged rear end. When we went to the dealer for an estimate they
told us there are NO PARTS AVAILABLE at this time for the car as it is "Too NEW"!!!!!
Now for the F-650. To make this brief:
2 New Headlight panel switches replaced (1 fire)
2 new 49 gallon fuel tanks (Due to rust in tanks) they would not give us a work order
on this!!!!
2 fuel transfer pumps (Due to Rust)
1 U-Joint (Due to vehicle sitting for numerous months before purchase and NO Pre
Delivery Service)
2 Exhaust Clamps (Caterpillar Recall) They broke leaving a very heavy exhaust
hanging and possibly breaking and striking other vehicles
1 Broken seat (Air Ride)
1 left front entire hub and brake assly (The brake wore down and ground down the hub
and rotor on the left side only at under 30000 miles)
1 ABS Light stays on after the replacement of the above (Dealer states they don't know
what is wrong)
1 Hole in floor board which allowed Diesel exhaust fumes to enter the cab
1 Steering wheel misalignment causing front end problems
1 Wheel alignment
2 wheels balanced front end
2 mismatched sets of tires (1 was a used tire that was run flat and we found this out
after we had a $200 flat on the Highway. The Truck service technician who came
out removed the tire, showed us the problem at under 10,000 miles)
Both sets of rear wheels not balanced
These were NOT solved at one time, some took months to fix and needless to say
numerous trips to the Dealer. Some dealers even refused to work on this truck!!!!
We are not done yet, after only 6 months of owning this truck I'm sure there are more
to come.
This truck according to the manual states a 2 year unlimited mileage warranty. I thought
that was a real good warranty...Now I see why they do it.
I was told by a 90 year old man before I bought this truck, my girl friends father, "Never
buy a F.O.R.D - Fix Or Repair Daily".
I am currently seeking a good Attorney to address these issues. If you know one please l
et me know who to call.
