I have a '96 Ford Aerostar..bought it brand new in '97....got a great deal....HA!!

The headliner leaks....been back to the dealer 6 times for repair...they can't seem to figure out where the water is coming from. Leaks only when left outside during a consistent rainfall....can not simulate the problem with water hose or car wash. Main problem is....it leaks water on ME when I am driving.

Every time I take it in for repair they keep it for 2-4 days. Once they couldn't find the repair ticket...stated that they would "mail me a copy".....haven't seen it yet! The last time I only had the van home for 1 day when I noticed a very discouraging noise coming from the floor of the van. Seems as though the van was experiencing a little drive train trouble. When I went back 4 days later to pick it up...the service guy stated that "the damage had been done in the shop a few days earlier when they were testing for the water leak......the van had rested or fell (can't remember exact words) on the drive train" the repair slip lists 8-10 new parts and a blurb "Charge to body shop"

Tried to trade it in and cut my losses at the dealer I bought it from.....dealer didn't give me any breaks when it came to pricing another van....stated that Ford would be willing to contribute $1,000 to the purchase price of a new van......which still doesn't bring me to the amount that I owe on the Aerostar. Nobody wants the Aerostar.....they are not making them anymore. A Ford dealer down the street gave me an even better deal without the backing of Ford on the defective van. Problem is I don't want another Ford.

I also happen to have a '93 Ford Escort that leaks from the windshield in the back....quite a coincidence....the dealer tells me this rarely happens.......I told him he was right....it only happens when it rains!
