I was reading one of the letters sent quite some time ago, in reference to transmissions on ford veh. What was interesting to me was the same exact line of B.S. used in 1988 was just used on my parents. They have a CHERRY 95 ford power stroke with 70,000 miles on it the thing has never been off road, hardly been driven the past for years. It was literally bought to look "pretty" and in my opinion that's were it should have stayed. You obviously are not supposed to used these work trucks for work. After just taking in the truck for a Cold Start prop. it was then pointed out to me that the trans. was slipping. When questioned on this matter (considering the truck is rarely even moved) it was put to my parents like this and I'll Quote; "Well when new trucks come to the market they have Quirks, then after a few years on the market we learn about them and fix the upcoming problems such as yours", My problem was that it needs a $2500.00 Transmission. It was then pointed out to my parents that ford put in a transmission that could not handle the torque of the strong engine and they new about this but, "It would cost ford to much to recall all the trucks with faulty transmissions" So they are stuck with a CHERRY 42,000.00 dollar P.O.S., Oh but ford will give them a great deal on another truck!? RIGHT!! See you at DODGE!!
