Dear Anti-Ford people and soon to be Anti-ford people:
Here's another story to add to the list.
I am the owner of a 1994 Mustang GT, which I proudly set down at the
dealership to order "exactly" the way I wanted it. The day I went to pick it
up I found out that I had pretty good taste because everybody at the
dealership had driven it, to the point that it had 100 miles on my "brand new
car".
Well, nevertheless I loved her, and babied her. The first 4 years I kept my
car in the garage and out of the elements, but when we moved to a new home
without a garage she was forced to live outside. Now this winter The paint
on my trunk and drivers door developed a BIG bubble and the paint literally
fell OFF. So I visited my local dealer to see if there was a recall or what
I should do to have the problem fixed, they advised me that it was quite a
coincidence that there had just been a customer in with the exact same
problem on their passengers door. So, they advised me to call Ford Customer
Service to get approval to have it fixed. Guess what! NO DEAL!! I was told
my car was just to old they were not going to fix it, but call the dealership
and have a rep take a look at it. So that's what I did. Timmy Purdue
(service manager) told me no problem bring it in and they would fix it as
they had just finished repairing one with the same problem on the passengers
door.(sound familiar). So I made arrangements to take it in this week. They
keep my car five hours and call to tell me Ford is refusing to pay for
repairs (shock shock) and for me to once again call customer service and try
to work this out. Guess what, I did and they still said no way. I promised
Ford customer care I would cause them more money in poor publicity than it
would have taken them to just repair their faulty paint. Customer care
advised my to go ahead so here I am, you are my first stop on the Anti-Ford
tirade.
So if there is anyone out there who is the owner of a 92-01 Ford Mustang(mine
is white) with paint problems let's hear'em, this is not right and we need to
force a recall for defective paint.
