Subject: 2004 Ford Super Duty with a 2003 6.0 diesel engine
Date: 6/28/2004
Hello,
October 2003, I purchased a new 2004 Ford Super Duty thinking I was beyond
the perils of the original 6.0 and it's problems.
While in the show room I reviewed the new 2004 Ford Truck brochures, and
even did my home work before I decided to make the purchase, knowing Ford
had fixed the existing problems, and completed several upgrades to the
original 6.0 diesel.
However, yesterday (June 25, 2004) I found I had purchased a 2004 Ford,
with a 2003 model 6.0 engine, and yes I'm very angry.
I believe Ford dumped the remaining 2003 6.0 model engines into the 2004
truck line in lieu of doing the right thing, not to mention no where in
my buyers documentation is any comments regarding the 2003 model engine
within my 2004 model.
You can tell if your 2004 Ford Super Duty has a 2003 model 6.0 engine by
looking at the passenger side valve cover, a sticker was placed on the
cover under the firewall area.
I' ve taken my complaint to the dealer, and informed Ford at 800-392-3673
of my findings, they in turn replied "if we need additional information,
we'll contact you!".
After your review of my comments, I would appreciate it if you would post
my email to any websites where this information would be noticed by other
2004 Ford diesel owners.
I can't fight Ford alone, I need the assistance of anyone who thinks as I
do, "For the money we spent, we didn't get what we thought we were
purchasing, that is a 2004 Ford Super Duty 6.0, with the 2004 components
and up grades.".
Thank you,
Wayne Wallace
